The public is highly enthusiastic about the vaccination, and the event is running smoothly by following the established health protocolsPangkalpinang, Bangka Belitung (ANTARA) - As many as 237,897 residents of Bangka Belitung (Babel) Province, were vaccinated in a bid to boost immunity and break the chain of COVID-19 transmission, according to the local task force for COVID-19 handling.
"The public is highly enthusiastic about the vaccination, and the event is running smoothly by following the established health protocols," Andi Budi Prayitno, spokesman for the COVID-19 Task Force for the Babel Islands Province, stated here on Tuesday.
Prayitno confirmed that as of the night of Monday (July 12), as many as 237,897 people comprising 14,156 health workers, 123,643 public service officers, 41,328 older adults, 41,711 members of the general public, and 7,069 people susceptible to contracting COVID-19 were vaccinated.

"We will currently enter the third stage of vaccination to be implemented at 85 vaccine locations, with a target of 125 people to be vaccinated at each location per day, with a total of 10,625 people vaccinated every day," the spokesman revealed.
Prayitno noted that the Bangka Belitung Islands Regional Police, as part of the COVID-19 Handling Task Force, had implemented vaccination programs at several locations and places to expedite this inoculation endeavor.
Furthermore, the Military Resort Command (Korem) 045/Garuda Jaya accelerated the implementation of the COVID-19 vaccination program in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
COVID-19 vaccinations were also administered to the managers of Tanjung Kalian Port, Muntok, and West Bangka, as well as crew members (ABK) that had docked at the port, including traders and the community around the port area.
PT Timah Tbk also partook in supporting the program by vaccinating all employees and their families.
"The vaccination program in the province has progressed well, and it demonstrates sound collaboration among stakeholders and cross-sectoral synergies, particularly with the TNI and Polri," Prayitno stated.
