Oxygen is ensured, and we are finding ways, so it goes smoothly, and it is a part of the duties of every SOE, which is not only a corporation but is also engaged in offering social services
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia's State-Owned Enterprises (SOE) Minister Erick Thohir has made assurance of the medical oxygen availability and supply process running smoothly during the pandemic.

"Oxygen is ensured, and we are finding ways, so it goes smoothly, and it is a part of the duties of every SOE, which is not only a corporation but is also engaged in offering social services," Thohir stated on his Instagram account @erickthohir here on Wednesday.

The minister also received a supportive message on combating COVID-19 in Indonesia from a netizen.

"This is encouragement for us, who are tasked as ministers. We ministers really work for almost 24 hours, and it is not only me," he revealed.

Thohir vowed to convey the said supportive message to the other ministers.

"I think it is a good thing that we work together during adversities. The government works together for the public, and the people also work together," he affirmed.

Thohir had earlier spoken of ordering SOEs to assist in the handling of the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia.

The SOE minister will always supervise it in order to save many more people while also easing the burden of responsibilities of hospitals.

He added that SOEs always offer available resources in order to meet the urgent requirements of oxygen for COVID-19 patients.

Thohir observed the allocation of oxygen supplies in PT Krakatau Steel (Persero) after doing the same earlier in PT Pertamina (Persero).

Krakatau Steel assisted with filling 800 to one thousand oxygen cylinders per day. The figure is estimated to reach 250 tons of oxygen per month.

The request and refilling of free oxygen cylinders can only be issued by hospitals, healthcare units, and the regional government.
