Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Industry Ministry has restructured its regulation on industrial operation and mobility permit (IOMKI), issued to industrial companies and industrial estates, through the issuance of Industry Minister’s Circular Letter Number 3 of 2021 on IOMKI during the public health emergency situation due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The current IOMKI format issued by the ministry offers a set of explanations on critical and essential sectors in accordance with the Indonesian Standard Industrial Classification (KBLI), Director General of Resilience, Territorial, and International Industrial Access (KPAII) Eko SA Cahyanto noted in his written statement here on Thursday.

The KBLI classifies industrial activities according to the type of products or outputs in the form of goods or services.

This readjustment has been made to facilitate direct identification and supervision amid the enforcement of Community Activities Restrictions (PPKM) Level 4 for industrial companies with several KBLIs, but not all of the classifications fit into critical or essential sectors, he explained.

“The implementation is determined according to the production process. If the KBLI falls in the critical category, it will follow provisions for the critical sector, and vice versa," he stated.

The director general also urged industrial companies to diligently comply with every regulation stated in the IOMKI. They are mandated to prioritize public safety and security, including the products they offer.

"This readjustment aims to streamline several aspects of IOMKI, facilitate real implementation of IOMKI, drive various efforts to handle COVID-19 pandemic, and accelerate national economic recovery, especially in the industrial sector," he stressed.

The format is expected to help local governments and COVID-19 task forces in directly supervising industrial companies, he remarked.
