Insya Allah (God willing), later, when one million vaccine doses arrive, we will (host the vaccinations) at some locationsSurabaya, E Java (ANTARA) - The Surabaya city government, East Java, will soon host mass inter-agency vaccinations at some locations.
Surabaya Mayor Eri Cahyadi stated in Surabaya on Monday that the second vaccine stocks were currently awaited.
"Insya Allah (God willing), later, when one million vaccine doses arrive, we will (host the vaccinations) at some locations," he remarked.
The mayor made assurance that the city government would work alongside the Surabaya Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) once the vaccine stocks were received from the central government for promptly implementing the vaccination program.
"There would be no difference (of vaccination spots) between province, regional police force, regional military force, and city government. Later on, we will coalesce them (the vaccination programs), how many belong to the city government, how many from the national defense force, and how many from the police force, all will be clubbed into one (program). We will arrange several vaccination spots. This (action is being taken) for the sake of our common interest, (and) we will handle (the pandemic) together," Cahyadi emphasized.
Cahyadi voiced support for mass COVID-19 vaccinations at several locations in Surabaya hosted by private companies and stakeholders, such as that organized in several companies and campuses.
Surabaya State University (Unesa), Sunan Ampel Islamic State University (UINSA), Pembangunan Nasional Veteran University (UPNV) East Java were some campuses that hosted mass vaccinations. Companies that hosted mass vaccinations comprised Jawa Pos and Unilever.
"Mass vaccinations are being conducted to achieve herd immunity," he affirmed.
