"These 938 vaccinators offer COVID-19 vaccinations to the public at 88 locations," Deputy Chief of the Babel Islands Provincial Police Brig. Gen . Umardani stated here on Saturday.
Umardani noted that in suppressing the number of cases and breaking the chain of COVID-19 transmission, the Babel Islands provincial government had appointed the Babel Islands Police chief as head of the COVID-19 Vaccination Task Force to boost the residents' immunity against the coronavirus.
"We are targeting 20 thousand vaccinations per day. To achieve herd (community) immunity in this area, it will take at least two months," he stated.
According to Umardani, the vaccine task force comprises the sub-task force: education and dissemination sub-task force, mobilization sub-task force, vaccinations sub-task force, monitoring and evaluation sub-task force, and data collection and reports sub-task force.
"We are optimistic that the target would be achieved in the next two months as long as the vaccination process is not conducted separately, but in synergy between the TNI, Police, and regional government," he affirmed.
Umardani remarked that for achieving the target of 20 thousand vaccinations per day, his side had implemented several strategies, including establishing a vaccine task force post at the provincial, district, and city level; increasing the number of vaccine booths at public places; conducting mobile vaccination; and holding vaccination in community groups.
Conducting mobilization by the four pillars in the village, adding vaccinators and administrators, and creating a task force for the district and city level were other strategies implemented by the government to achieve the target.
"The number of vaccinators deployed (938) does not include the 169 vaccinators from the BKKBN," he remarked.
