Jakarta (ANTARA) - Healthcare and Social Security Agency (BPJS Kesehatan) held a Hackathon 2021 competition for IT practitioners, CS, developers, data scientists, and the public to channel their creative ideas into IT development in the health sector.

According to the BPJS Kesehatan press release here, Thursday, Hackathon 2021 is expected to present new ideas and offer solutions to make it easier and more convenient for users of the National Health Insurance and Healthy Indonesia Card (JKN-KIS) amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

BPJS Kesehatan's Technology and Information Director Edwin Aristiawan noted that entering the 8th year of JKN-KIS, the agency has possessed and managed enormous data.

Aristiawan affirmed that the information system developed by BPJS Kesehatan was quite complex and unique.

"It is undeniable that current technological advancements have had a huge impact on the pace of development of information systems. With vast complex data, it is a challenge for BPJS Kesehatan to develop IT in the management of National Health Insurance," he emphasized.

Aristiawan believes that this competition will also encourage various elements of society to become involved to jointly contribute to improving the quality of service to JKN-KIS participants through collaboration and innovation.

"We are optimistic that with the participation of IT experts in Hackathon 2021, the event would become an endeavor to unitedly face the challenges of IT development, especially in the field of health," he stated.

"The ideas of people, skilled in IT, are expected to be incorporated into implementing the JKN-KIS program and proffer benefits to its participants," he affirmed.

The BPJS Kesehatan Hackathon 2021 competition, held online, is divided into three categories: penetration testing (Pentest), Internet of Thing (IoT), and Artificial Intelligence (AI), he stated.

Prospective participants keen to partake in this competition can upload their creative ideas from August 26, 2021, to September 8, 2021. Participants can obtain information on registration requirements from the official social media account of BPJS Kesehatan, he stated.

In addition, Hackathon 2021 will feature online webinar activities on August 27, 2021, based on the topic "Digital Innovation towards JKN-KIS Participants Services with The Concept of Collaboration" for all Indonesians to participate.
