The TNI and Polri officials had the opportunity to interact virtually with patients being treated at the floating isolation area that was opened on August 21.
Prabowo has invited all Papuans, especially those in Jayapura and its surroundings, to undergo quarantine in the centralized isolation center if they are exposed to the COVID-19 disease.
Based on the accounts of patients, who underwent isolation in the ship owned by PT Pelni, the floating isolation place is replete with supporting facilities and is monitored intensively by health workers.
"Commander Tjahjanto and I are very grateful and happy after hearing that patients received good service through the facilities and intensive supervision of health workers," he stated.
Hence, Prabowo is optimistic that residents would notify their families and relatives exposed to the virus to undergo quarantine on the ship.
He believes that complete centralized isolation facilities and adequate supervision by health workers will facilitate quicker recovery of the patients. Most importantly, patients undergoing self-isolation can prevent transmission to other people.
On the occasion, Prabowo lauded the health workers for their unwavering efforts to treat people exposed to the coronavirus.
"Thank you to the health workers for patiently treating the patients. Please continue to check the condition of the patients intensively every day, so that they can soon be healthy and recover," he remarked.
As of August 26, KM Tidar had treated 34 people, of which seven were declared cured, and 27 are still being treated.
