Jakarta (ANTARA) - Bank Indonesia (BI) Jakarta officially held the Jakarta Creative Festival (JaKreatif Fest) 2021 for supporting the "Proud of made in Indonesian Products" (Gernas BBI) and Proud to Travel in Indonesia campaign (BWI).

"The Jakarta Creative Festival is organized to boost the Gernas BBI and Proud to Travel in Indonesia campaign," Head of the BI Jakarta Representative Office Onny Widjanarko noted in his speech at the opening of the virtual event here on Monday.

The main theme of JaKreatif Fest 2021 is empowering creative, innovative, and inspiring new sources of economic growth in the era of digitalization to bolster national economic recovery, he remarked.

Through the event, BI Jakarta intends to highlight information, stories, and interactions with sharia MSME players, creative industries, national film industry, Nusantara coffee, Jakarta tourism, fashion, and payment digitalization, according to Widjanarko.

"We believe that the sharia MSME sector, creative industries, tourism including MICE (Meeting, Incentive, Convention, Exhibition), as well as digital finance and economy can be a space and offer opportunity to speed up recovery of the national economy," he remarked.

The JaKreatif Fest 2021 has been preceded by several activities, such as halal certification, training clinics, and MSME onboarding on Tokopedia's e-commerce platform, he pointed out.

Widjanarko drew attention to various podcasts and competitions related to tourism, coffee, and exhibition of Indonesia's flagship products.

Under the main agenda on Aug 30-31, 2021, several workshops and webinars will be held covering several topics, such as the development of MSMEs and sharia economy, fashion shows, music, cinema, tourism, and other creative economies, he highlighted.

"At the main event, we will present qualified experts and practitioners, who will thoroughly discuss tourism, sharia MSMEs, the coffee industry, film industry, fashion industry, and other creative economy sectors through speeches and seminars," Widjanarko stated.

Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan lauded the activities initiated by BI Jakarta. He is optimistic that the JaKreatif Fest 2021 would positively impact the development of MSMEs.

"Hopefully, the JaKreatif Fest 2021 activities held today will positively drive the development of MSMEs, the tourism creative industry, and the national MSME digitalization, especially in Jakarta," Baswedan affirmed.
