"According to our roadmap, as on August 31, we had reached 100 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine," she informed in a press statement delivered virtually via YouTube on Wednesday.
This achievement is expected to further expedite the national vaccination program towards the 400-million dose target for achieving herd immunity within the 2022 deadline, she said.

Based on the number of citizens vaccinated, Indonesia is ranked sixth in the world above Mexico and below Japan, she revealed.
In addition, Indonesia is ranked seventh in the world based on the total doses of vaccines administered, above Turkey and below Germany, she added.
"As of August 31, 2021, we have injected more than 100 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, which is a total combination of the first dose, second dose, and third booster dose for health workers," she i said.
So far, 63.49 million vaccines have been administered as the first dose, 6.05 million have been administered as the second dose, and 640,532 have been administered as the third dose, she added.
"For health workers, the third dose vaccination has reached 640,532, and the first and second doses have reached 100 percent. Meanwhile for public officers, we have completed the first dose," she continued.
According to her, 31 million vaccines have been administered as the first dose to the public, 2.6 million to teenagers, and 810 thousand doses have been administered as the first dose under the Gotong-Royong (independent) vaccination program.
However, Indonesia needs to increase vaccine coverage among the elderly because just 5.3 million, or 24.5 percent, of the 21.5 million targeted recipients in the age group have been provided the first dose, she added.
