Its business derivative is a lot, ranging from data centers to web services as everyone needs digitalizationJakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno has called cloud computing an unstoppable technological trend as many parties, including micro, small, and medium enterprises, need it for many functions.
"Its business derivative is a lot, ranging from data centers to web services as everyone needs digitalization," he remarked at a media briefing here on Tuesday.
He said he believes that currently, the trend is increasingly leading to digitalization in various areas where Indonesia has tremendous potential.
The government is mobilizing power to create an ecosystem that can boost digital transformation, which can later help people not just survive in the midst of the pandemic but emerge as winners.
Citing his own business credentials, he challenged his colleagues in the ministry to not only work on regulations, but also realize the aspirations of tourism and creative economy entrepreneurs.
He urged the government to be observant in sorting out the regulations needed to fit business players' aspirations.
To work optimally on the country's potential, the government must put itself in a strategic role together with other parties such as the business world, educational institutions, and communities, he observed.

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the perspective on the digital economy, as many businesses can survive with the help of digitalization, he added.
The government will help those who really need assistance in the form of facilitation to enter the digital economy, he continued.
"The government's perspective is how to help those in need. This is targeted with activities like training, mentoring, and incubation," he said.
Currently, there are more than 11 million MSMEs who are in the on-boarding stage into the digital realm as part of the Proud of made in Indonesian Products movement (Gernas BBI), he revealed.
Uno said he believes that later there will be business players who will manage to survive and innovate with the help of digitalization, following the path of other startup founders who are already well-known in Indonesia.
He hoped that in the future they can transform: micro-businesses grow into small businesses and small businesses grow into medium-sized businesses.
"We hope the younger generation will bring change," Uno said and invited people to think creatively in finding solutions.
