The Kominfo ministry continues to disseminate licensing logistics and hold capacity improvement program for human resources in radio broadcast by inviting practitioners and experts in the field of broadcasting.Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo) is striving to boost the competencies of human resources in the field of radio broadcasting in a bid to stay relevant in the digital age.
"The ministry continues to disseminate licensing logistics and hold capacity improvement program for human resources in radio broadcast by inviting practitioners and experts in the field of broadcasting," Kominfo Minister Johnny G. Plate told ANTARA, as quoted on Thursday.
Plate highlighted that some of the programs held to hone the competencies of human resources comprised script writing and editing training.
Moreover, Kominfo, along with radio broadcasters, had continued to coordinate to design a radio concept with the digital broadcast system.
The efforts comprised broadcasting various programs through the digital platform, such as podcasts, application, and live streaming, in spite of the analog radio broadcasting.
"In future, the radio industry has to be prepared to handle digital disruption and global competition," Plate asserted.

As a regulator, Kominfo also remains committed to maintaining the existence of radio through several steps, such as streamlining the radio's broadcasting permit (IPP) process.
Moreover, the ministry extends the IPP payment deadline as well as adjusts the radio IPP's expiry date.
Kominfo also endeavors to maintain order in the radio industry, including acting against illegal or unlicensed radio as well as providing consultation for radio broadcasters through the online channel and telephone.
"In future, the government, along with related stakeholders, will continue to advance the policy to encourage and to increase opportunities for the radio industry's growth driven by the creativity of radio enthusiasts in Indonesia," he affirmed.
