Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), accompanied by First Lady Iriana, continued his working visit to the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) on Friday to ensure the implementation of COVID-19 vaccinations for the community.

Jokowi arrived in Yogyakarta since Thursday (Sept 9) evening after a working visit to South Sulawesi Province, according to an official statement from the Press Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat that ANTARA received in Jakarta on Friday.

During their working visit, Jokowi and First Lady Iriana were scheduled to conduct an observation of the COVID-19 vaccination held at the Jogja Expo Center, Bantul District.

In addition, Jokowi and First Lady Iriana will observe COVID-19 vaccination activities for students at special schools in Bantul District.

Thereafter, the president will give directions pertaining to the Coordination Forum for Regional Leaders in Yogyakarta scheduled to be held at the Kepatihan Danurejan Complex, Yogyakarta City.

On Friday afternoon, President Jokowi will visit the Muallimin Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta Boarding School. At the Islamic boarding school, the head of state will observe and inaugurate several facilities and infrastructure.

During the visit, President Jokowi and First Lady Iriana were accompanied by Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Head of the Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono, Presidential Military Secretary Marsda M. Tonny Harjono, and Presidential Security Detail (Paspampres) Commander Major General Tri Budi Utomo.
