We synergize to provide value as well as digital solutions for Buku Warung's MSMEs merchants by launching a payment solution through QRIS, Virtual Account, and other digital finance solutionsJakarta (ANTARA) - State-owned Bank PT Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) Tbk is collaborating with the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) bookkeeping application Buku Warung to encourage transactions through Quick Response Indonesian Standard (QRIS) usage among MSMEs merchants.
"We synergize to provide value as well as digital solutions for Buku Warung's MSMEs merchants by launching a payment solution through QRIS, Virtual Account, and other digital finance solutions," Vice Director of BNI Adi Sulistyowati noted in an official statement received here on Saturday.
Under this collaboration, BNI will encourage digital transactions among people by utilizing the company's authority, she noted.
The first step is by optimizing the value chain of the bank's customers, such as local distributors, protégé MSMEs, and employee retribution, she remarked.
The second measure is to utilize QRIS and Virtual Account (VA) as an online payment alternative for social commerce merchants, she stated.
The third step is by intensifying strategic cooperation with global partners to fully capitalize on the business potential, she explained.
Sulistyowati noted that the last step entailed boosting the program as an education platform for people regarding digital transactions.
"We are optimistic that this cooperation with Buku Warung would encourage digital transactions in Indonesia," Sulistyowati stated.
The BNI expressed hope that this cooperation with Buku Warung would increase QRIS acceptance among 12 million merchants across Indonesia in addition to driving economic recovery that will support MSMEs transactions amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
CEO and co-founder of BukuWarung Abhinay Peddisetty stated that digital finance solutions provided by BNI will make it easy for MSMEs or merchant users of Buku Warung to utilize financial products to develop their businesses.
Through this cooperation, he opined that merchant consumers will have greater flexibility in choosing a payment option during transactions.
Peddisetty noted that potential earnings for Buku Warung merchants will also increase that would enable MSMEs to financially prosper.
