JIS won the platinum rank, with a score of 91, for its green design recognition from certification agencies from the Board of Green Building Council Indonesia (GBCI).Jakarta (ANTARA) - Several state-of-the-art technologies have been applied in the development of infrastructure at the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS), including the "Zero Run Off," PT Jakarta Propertindo, or Jakpro, a state-owned property company stated.
The "Zero Run Off" technology aims to prevent flooding, as it prevents inundation following rains in the area around the stadium located in Papanggo Village, Tanjung Priok sub-District, Project Manager of Jakpro, Arry Wibowo stated.
"Hence, rainwater or surface water will not flood the surrounding area but will be absorbed and streamed through the city's water channels," Wibowo noted during an Instagram live broadcast here on Sunday night.
The streamed rainwater will be channeled through North Jakarta's waterways, he remarked.
According to the project manager of Jakpro, rain discharge throughout the year and other factors were also taken into account while planning the stadium's construction.
Furthermore, he noted that sinks, water taps, and showers in the athlete's dressing rooms will be equipped with automatic stop features, with each feature following the common standards. For instance, the standard use of showers should be under nine liters per minute.
Wibowo stated that the company also planned to develop rainwater storage tanks and distillation facilities, so that rainwater can be recycled to water plants and grass fields, including for flushing in toilets.
Rainwater storage is specifically for JIS to meet one of the parameters of an environment-friendly building, which is the green design recognition and water conservation (WAC), he noted.
JIS won the platinum rank, with a score of 91, for its green design recognition from certification agencies from the Board of Green Building Council Indonesia (GBCI), he pointed out.
GBCI is a member of the World Green Building Council (WGBC) based in Toronto, Canada, with 102 member nations worldwide.
The greenship platinum level is based on six parameters of verification: 12 points on Appropriate Site Development (ASD), 24 points on Energy Efficiency and Conservation (EEC),18 points on Water Conservation (WAC), two points on Material Resources and Cycle (MRC), four points on Indoor Health and Comfort (IHC), and three points on Building Environment Management (BEM).
