"The world tourism trend is marked by increasing the number of halal tourist destinations in various countries. This is driven by the increasing number of Muslim travelers, especially from Middle Eastern countries," he remarked.
In the midst of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, halal tourism will also require assurance of cleanliness, health, safety, and environmental friendliness, or CHSE, as well as conformity with Islamic religious guidance, Amin said.
"Halal tourism also develops the concept of fulfilling aspects of cleanliness, comfort, and conformity with religious guidance," he added.

The Vice President said he also supports the development of halal tourism in Indonesia through the provision of services and facilities by tourism players that are friendly to Muslim tourists in various tourist destinations.
"Moslem friendly tourism in tourist destinations (involves facilities) such as accommodation, halal restaurants or food, adequate places of worship, and other halal service facilities," he explained.
Therefore, the Vice President asked tourism industry players to increase literacy and understanding on halal tourism and introduce it to the public.
"In its implementation, the development of halal tourism is still constrained by the low level of public literacy. For that, we all need to continue to improve public literacy regarding the concept of halal tourism," he said.
