Jakarta (ANTARA) - Official from the Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) Eddy Satriya stated that the 2021 productive aid for micro enterprises (BPUM), worth Rp15.24 trillion, had been distributed to 12.7 million micro entrepreneurs.

"In its distribution process, there was also monitoring by APIP (government’s internal supervisory apparatuses) during which several problems regarding the implementation of the BPUM Program were found," Satriya noted in a press statement here on Monday.

"Refinement efforts can be immediately made, so that the 2021 BPUM Program can be implemented in an even better way and to preserve its accountability," he added.

The smooth distribution process can be attributed to the coordination between the ministry and institutions in the cooperatives and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) sector all over Indonesia, he noted.

During the implementation of the 2021 BPUM Program, the ministry had conducted some refinement in the form of regulation change, specifically amending the Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs Regulation (Permenkop) No. 6 of 2020 by publishing the Permenkop No 2 of 2021 and the 2021 BPUM implementation guideline No. 3 of 2021.

The changes and publication of these regulations aimed to optimize the 2021 BPUM Program in response to the evaluation result by APIP and examination result by Indonesia's Supreme Audit Agency (BPK), Satriya explained.

Several changes were made in the implementation of the 2021 BPUM Program.

Under the first change, BPUM's potential recipient can only come from institutions in the cooperatives and SMEs sector to facilitate coordination and creation of the database of regional micro entrepreneurs.

Secondly, BPUM's potential recipient suggestion data had to be verified with the data from Citizenship and Civil Registration (Dukcapil) as well as with the data from the Program Credit Information System (SIKP).

The third was to request the Business Permit Number (NIB) or Business Certificate (SKU) document from micro entrepreneurs, keen on applying for BPUM, in order to minimize target inaccuracy.
