With the training in digital marketing for MSMEs in Rumah BUMN and applying (the learned knowledge), hopefully, MSMEs can grow
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Special Staff of State-Owned Enterprises (SOE) Minister Erick Thohir, Arya Sinulingga, has encouraged digital training at Rumah BUMN (SOE Training House) to increase MSME (micro, small, and medium enterprise) sales.

"With the training in digital marketing for MSMEs in Rumah BUMN and applying (the learned knowledge), hopefully, MSMEs can grow," he said in a written statement received here on Saturday.

According to Sinulingga, during the COVID-19 pandemic, physical sales of MSMEs declined, but they got a significant boost through online sales.

Earlier, he visited the Central Jakarta Rumah BUMN that is managed by Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI).

Rumah BUMN in Central Jakarta has partnered with MSMEs who are being mentored at the training house, he informed.

The MSMEs come from a variety of sectors, ranging from food processing to handicrafts, he said. The Rumah BUMN is conducting digital training for MSME players, he added.

During Sinulingga's visit, he conversed with the training participants. One of the MSME trainees, Miral, claimed she made a profit of up to Rp20 million per month due to the training.

"Initially, in 2010, my capital was only Rp500 thousand, but I keep pursuing and expanding (the business) by using my own funds. Until then I joined (to be a mentee of) SOEs to become BRI's mentored partners and I can participate in New York's exhibitions," Miral said.

The trainees also obtain a lot of benefits. Wiwiek, an MSME owner who runs a juice beverage business, said that she benefited from the digital marketing class at Rumah BUMN.

She also asked Rumah BUMN at Central Jakarta to continue its training program for advancing Indonesian MSMEs and create more positive impacts.
