Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Jakarta Regional Military Command (Kodam Jaya) is conducting an evaluation at all centralized COVID-19 quarantine locations to ensure all Indonesian citizens returning from traveling abroad can undergo quarantine smoothly, an official said.

The evaluation is being carried out thoroughly after the Jakarta Regional Military Command found out about an incident involving a public figure who managed to escape the mandatory quarantine after returning from abroad, he added.

"The evaluation is still in process because the regional military commander has ordered us to evaluate the entire sites, be it the airport, Pademangan flats, COVID-19 emergency hospitals, and our centralized isolation place in Nagrak flats and so on," Jakarta Military Command chief of information, Colonel of Air Defense Artillery (Arh) Herwin BS, said here on Friday.

All centralized quarantine sites are being evaluated, starting from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Pademangan flats, Wisma Atlet Emergency Hospital at Kemayoran, to Nagrak flats, Herwin added.

The public figure who reportedly evaded quarantine did so with the assistance of a National Defense Forces (TNI))member serving with the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Security Task Force, he informed.

Based on the results of the investigation, the TNI member, identified by his initials as FS, had arranged for the public figure to evade quarantine procedures that are mandatory after travel abroad, he said.

In accordance with the Circular of COVID-19 Task Force No. 18 of 2021, international passengers who have just arrived in Indonesia must undergo quarantine for 8x24 hours.

Meanwhile, Head of the Task Force for COVID-19's decision No. 12 of 2021 stipulates that Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) returning to Indonesia and staying at least 14 days in Indonesia can avail quarantine repatriation facilities at Wisma Atlet emergency hospital. (
