Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) has said it will hold Ritech Expo 2021 in a virtual format once more to introduce research and innovation products produced in Indonesia to the public.

"The presence of virtual Ritech Expo 2021 does not erase the fact that we, together with R&D, government, universities, and various renowned institutions, both domestic and international, are capable of providing the best exhibition and experience through the virtual screen," BRIN's head Laksana Tri Handoko noted.

During the 'Research & Innovation Exhibition Ritech Expo 2021 Kickoff' webinar originating from here on Wednesday, he said that the expo will be held virtually on account of COVID-19.

The annual exhibition, themed 'Digital, Green, and Blue Economy', will also be held to commemorate the 26th National Technological Revival Day, he added.

The exhibition will be presented in an interactive format that would make it easy for visitors to understand and search for the best innovative products made by Indonesians, Handoko informed.

Ritech Expo 2021 will present research and innovation products from 10 categories, he highlighted.

The categories comprise food and farming, health and medicine, information and communication technology, energy, advanced materials, defense and security, maritime affairs, disasters mitigation as well as education, art, and social culture, he said.

The exhibition will be held over four days from November 10 to 13, 2021, he informed.

The expo will not only exhibit the latest technological products but will also feature webinars, science demos, and research consultation clinics from a number of renowned domestic institutions, he said.

People wishing to participate in the event can register by visiting the webpage www.ritechexpo.id, he added.

BRIN also held Youth Science Week 2021, themed 'Trust Instinct with Research and Technology', from October 25-28, 2021 in a virtual format.
