The assistance was symbolically handed over to the Sintang district government by Head of BNI Sintang Pujianoor through Head of Equipment and Assets of the Sintang Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) Abang Achtar.
"The aid package is not much, but it is a form of our concern for the flood victims. We are also concerned," Pujianoor noted in Sintang, Wednesday.
Pujianoor remarked that flooding in Sintang had affected public activities and also disrupted economic growth of the community.
He expects the assistance distributed to be useful and ease the burden or console the people affected by the natural disaster.
Head of Equipment and Assets for the Sintang BPBD, Abang Achtar, remarked that the aid from BNI was helpful to the flood victims.
"With the current flood conditions, the community really needs a helping hand. We are very grateful for BNI Sintang's concern," Achtar emphasized.
Achtar confirmed that the assistance will be distributed to people in need later on.
"We are optimistic that other parties would also come forward to ease the burden on the community," he stated while echoing his aspirations.
The flooding swamped Sintang and its adjoining areas for over a week. Public activities have been impacted, and access to the Sintang-Melawi District Road was cut off due to the disaster.
The floods also hit several areas apart from Sintang, such as in the Melawi, Sekadau, and Sanggau districts.
