According to the official website of the Youth and Sports Ministry, the urine samples were collected from gold medallists and record-breaking athletes participating in the 2021 National Paralympics Week (Peparnas) XVI in Papua province.
The samples will be shipped to Qatar on Monday (November 15, 2021), two days after the Peparnas XVI closing ceremony, the ministry confirmed.
During a visit to the Papua Province Health Laboratory to inspect doping test equipment on Friday (November 12, 2021), Minister Amali asked LADI to expedite the doping test on samples taken during Peparnas matches and outside the competition.
"We have retrieved 153 urine samples during the Peparnas matches, and we hope we could reach the targeted 200 samples until the last day of Peparnas as medal matches continue. We will promptly ship the samples to Qatar once the sample target is reached," Amali informed.

Earlier, LADI had collected 723 urine samples during the PON XX National Games and shipped the samples in two batches -- the first batch, comprising 202 samples, was dispatched on October 19, 2021, and the second batch of 521 samples was shipped on October 25, the minister added.
The anti-doping agency is currently striving to collect 122 additional samples retrieved outside the competition by November-end, he said.
Meanwhile, LADI secretary general Dessy Rosmelita confirmed that the doping test results will become accessible three weeks after the samples are received by the laboratory in Qatar.
"We need around seven to ten days to ship the samples from Jakarta to the Anti-Doping Lab (ADL) in Qatar, as we depend on the cargo movement," she said.
Given the large number of samples they need to test, earlier requests to process the doping tests in 20 days were declined by the lab, Rosmelita added.
