Lombok Tengah, NTB (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Communication and Informatics has assured the radio frequency used in the World Superbike at the Mandalika Circuit, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, is safe for the race to proceed.

"The frequency of the WSBK event remains monitored and we make sure it is safe," Director General of Resources Management and Equipment of Posts and Informatics at the ministry, Dr. Ir Ismail remarked in Mandalika Circuit in Praya, Central Lombok on Saturday.

The purpose of monitoring the radio frequency spectrum is securing the communication lines for organizers, broadcasters, camera sensors on racer motorbikes, video cameras on the circuit, and other devices that use such frequencies, he explained.

"It is to guarantee the use of frequencies does not interfere with existing frequency permission users," Ismail said.

With the monitoring, it is expected that all frequencies used by the organizers and existing users can work optimally, he added.

"To ascertain this year's WSBK runs smoothly, the observation is not only for frequencies that have radio broadcast permits (ISR), but also on Internet services and all wireless devices utilized by the race crews and teams," he expounded.

According to Ismail, the acting technical unit (UPT) of Radio Spectrum Frequency Monitoring of Mataram has been supporting the frequency bands of mobile services throughout the sub-districts of Central Lombok.

"They have guaranteed the coverage of mobile services through drive test facilities," he added.

From the results of the monitoring, the ministry is certain that the frequency used for mobile communication lines in the region has a strong signal that meets the standards, he informed. Thus, the entire circuit area is covered by cellular services, he said.

"(The support) includes device and fleet modernization to secure telecommunication services to be used by all spectators and officials to glorify these activities in Mandalika as widely as possible," he remarked.
