With the existence of Pandawa (Administration Service through WhatsApp) and other services, such as Mobile JKN, that figure dropped to below 15 people per dayJakarta (ANTARA) - Healthcare and social security agency BPJS Kesehatan received the digital service innovation award from the ASEAN Social Security Association (ASSA) during the 38th ASSA Recognition Award 2021 for the Continuous Improvement Recognition Award category, Friday.
ASSA Chairman Heng Sophannarith gave the award in recognition of the agency's innovation in online health consultation and administrative services developed to help people gain easier access to health services.
"In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia, several members of JKN-KIS ( the National Health Insurance and Healthy Indonesia Card) experienced difficulties in accessing health facility services," BPJS Kesehatan's Presidential Director, Ali Ghufron Mukti, noted here on Friday.
"This condition encourages BPJS Kesehatan to take strategic steps to ensure members' satisfaction and prosperity through innovation in digital services," he affirmed.

BPJS Kesehatan has developed the online consultation service with doctors for the first level health facility (FTKP) through the Mobile JKN and Mobile JKN Faskes application.
This service enables members to interact with doctors through FTKP while concurrently monitoring their treatment and health status.
Interactions between members and doctors are counted as contact rate that is considered as an indicator for FKTP's performance.
"Before COVID-19 (health service, ed.), BPJS Kesehatan's office branches could be accessed by 200 people per day. In East Java, the figure could reach 800," Mukti pointed out.
"With the existence of Pandawa (Administration Service through WhatsApp) and other services, such as Mobile JKN, that figure dropped to below 15 people per day," he stated.

Various programs and applications that BPJS Kesehatan developed could make it easier for the people to handle administrative and other health services.
BPJS Kesehatan also unveiled various other innovations, such as the Chat Assistant JKN (CHIKA), Voice Interactive JKN (VIKA), BPJS Kesehatan Care Center 165, and Direct Message on its official social media platform.
"This innovation was unveiled to minimize the number of visits to health facilities that increases along with the spread of COVID-19," the presidential director explained.
ASSA was formed to offer a forum for its members to share their views and experiences concerning social security issues.
The association's members comprise nine ASEAN countries: Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia.
