Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Jakarta provincial government has disallowed state civil apparatus (ASN) from taking a leave and travelling outside the region during the Christmas and New Year's holidays from December 20, 2021, to January 2, 2022.

The announcement was made through Circulation Letter (SE) No. 79 and No. 45 of 2021 issued by Jakarta's Regional Employee Agency (BKD) Head Maria Qibtia on Wednesday.

The BKD also announced this information through its social media channel @bkddkijakarta.

The SE No. 45 of 2021 bars ASN from taking a leave and travelling outside the region in the same week as the national holidays both before and after, so they are banned from the aforementioned since December 20, 2021.

However, this restriction does not apply for ASN that take a maternity leave, sick leave, or leave for important reasons as well as ASN living and working in an institution located within one agglomeration area.

Meanwhile, ASN compelled to travel to outside the region are necessitated to have a written agreement with the regional government.

This leave and travel prohibition for ASN in Jakarta is a follow up of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Ministerial Circular Letter No. 26 of 2021.

Within Government Regulation No. 94 of 2021, the level of disciplinary punishment ranges from light to mild and severe.
