Jakarta (ANTARA) - The distribution of Village Fund Cash Transfers (BLT-DD) is encountering administrative issues on the field, an official from the Presidential Office (KSP) has informed.

"The distribution of Village Fund BLT is still encountering problems, such as technical administrative issues and a limited budget," the KSP Deputy III, Panutan Sulendrakusuma, said in a press statement after monitoring BLT-DD distribution in Karawang District, West Java Province, on December 2–3, 2021.

Coordination with technical ministries is necessary to ensure a smooth execution mechanism on the field, he noted.

"It would require a more effective and efficient mechanism," he said.

President Joko Widodo has sought the acceleration of extreme poverty eradication in seven priority provinces and 35 priority districts with the target of total poverty eradication by 2024.

To realize this, the government has said it will increase the amount of BLT-DD and Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT) this year, Sulendrakusuma said.

"Each will be budgeted Rp300 thousand for three months," he added.

If the village fund is not enough for the additional village BLT, in accordance with the regulation, the district or city government fund will be utilized, he informed.

"If that is still not enough, then the provincial government funds will be used," he said.

KSP will also promptly coordinate with ministries or institutions and stakeholders to conduct debottlenecking and take steps so that the aid can be distributed quickly and accurately, he added.

"In addition, data coordination and consolidation from the village, district, provincial, and central governments will also be bolstered so that any problems that arise on the field can be handled quickly," he affirmed.

Extreme poverty is defined as a condition in which a person's income is less than the purchasing power parity (PPP) standard of US$1.9, he explained.

Based on this, the level of extreme poverty in Indonesia in 2021 has been determined to be four percent of the total population or 10.86 million people, he said.
