"We have readied the rubber boats for evacuation efforts to anticipate flooding," Head of the Lebak BPBD Febby Rizky Pratama said here on Sunday.
Lebak District currently has quite high of rainfall, with moderate and light intensity, and its frequency lasts more than five hours.
The bad weather carries risk of flood disaster due to overflowing rivers.
Thousands of families in 14 sub-districts live in flood-prone areas.
The Lebak authorities also receive rubber boats from the National Defense Forces (TNI), the Police f, Banten Search and Rescue Agency, and volunteers.
"We guarantee that there is sufficient supply of rubber boats to evacuate residents in flood-stricken areas," he said.
The people of Lebak District have been reminded to remain vigilant of natural disasters such s flooding and landslides.
The flood-prone areas include Rangkasbitung, Cibadak, Warunggunung, Cimarga, Banjarsari, Gunungkencana, Cileles, Cimarga, Leuwidanar, Cirinten, Wanasalam, Malingping, Maja, and Cijaku Sub-districts.
Those sub-districts are on flood alert given their position passed by large rivers, such as the Ciliman, Cistepan, Ciberang, Cidurian, Ciujung, Cisimeut, and Cimoyan rivers.
"We have told them if rainfall increases, they should evacuate themselves to a safer place," Pratama said.
