Jakarta (ANTARA) - The 2022 Bangkit (Revive) Program, launched by Indonesia's Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Ministry in collaboration with several partners, is expected to reach three thousand university students, an official has informed.

"There are three primary programs in 2022, namely machine learning, cloud computing, and mobile programming," Head of Google Indonesia's Brand Reputation Marketing Muriel Makarim said.

At an online media briefing here on Monday, she said that Bangkit is a career readiness program initiated by her company along with partners to produce high-caliber digital talents.

In 2021, the program saw participation from 2,500 graduates, 30 percent of whom were women and 69 percent were from small- and medium-sized cities, she said. The program gave birth to 15 incubation projects, she added.

"Around 490 graduates of 2021 Bangkit had received a job. The achievement from the 2021 Bangkit made Indonesia a country with the highest Google Android certification growth," Makarim informed.

Most of the learning for the program is carried out online, which is 908 hours in duration on average, and comprises critical thinking, time management, professional communication, adaptability, startup valuation, digital branding, and communication during interviews, she said.

There are numerous benefits to participating in Bangkit, such as industry curriculum and instructors, conversion of 20 semester credits, and a successful career in the most advanced IT company through a career fair, she added.

There are also global certifications and funding support and mentors offered for the best project, Makarim said.

There are several conditions for participating in the 2022 Bangkit program, she informed.

The participants of the program should be Indonesian citizens and pursuing undergraduate studies at a campus registered on PDDikti (University Database) in any major, except health studies, she said. The participants must not have completed graduation, she added.

University students who are interested in participating in the program need to fill up the registration form at g.co/bangkit, take an assessment test, fill the administrative form, and register at https://kampusmerdeka.kemdikbud.go.id/, she said. Registrations will be open till December 31, 2021, she added.

"So far, there are 20 thousand university students who have signed up for this program," Makarim informed.
