The commitment to corruption eradication should not stop at ceremonial and administrative matters.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The commitment of government institutions to eradicating corruption must not become mere formality or rhetoric, Vice President Ma’ruf Amin has said.

He made the statement during the Awards of Integrity Zone to Corruption-Free Regions (WBK), Clean Bureaucracy, and Serving Regions (WBBM), televised here on Monday.

“The commitment to corruption eradication should not stop at ceremonial and administrative matters,” remarked Amin, who joined the event from his official residence here on Monday.

He spoke of his intention to devise strategies to eradicate corruption. The strategies should become a part of the working culture in ministries, non-governmental institutions, and regional administrations, he said.

“The bureaucratic reform road map, unqualified opinion (WTP), integrity pact, these WBK and WBBM awards should be manifested in the organization’s working culture and excellent public services,” he emphasized.

The working units under ministries, institutions, and regional administrations should make real efforts so that the public has quick, easy, cheap, and inclusive access to public services, he added.

The Vice President also called on all ministries, institutions, and regional administrations to immediately improve their quality so that they can provide the best services to the public.

“Today is a good opportunity as an introspective momentum for all stakeholders here to continue to improve the individual and organizational characters,” he said.

Amin lauded ministries, institutions, and regional administrations that received the awards, and the Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Ministry as the driving force for integrity zone development.

“Thank you to the Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Ministry for being consistent in monitoring the integrity zone development at governmental service units. Also, congratulations to all the institutions that have received the awards of integrity zone to corruption-free regions, clean bureaucracy, and serving regions,” he remarked.
