The Vice President expressed the hope that the construction of the places of worship close to each other will not only serve as a symbol of tolerance but also promote cross-religious coordination and strengthen national unity.

Wednesday's inauguration ceremony was also attended by the Minister of Religious Affairs, Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, Governor of Jakarta Anies Baswedan, Chancellor of Pancasila University, Prof. Edie Toet Hendratno, and other academics from the university.

This is hoped to serve as an example for other universities so that they can facilitate worship for the academic community as a form of implementing Pancasila values, the university said.

Since the university bears the name of Pancasila, the state ideology, it is the university's responsibility to implement each of the five principles of Pancasila, one of which involves providing places of worship, Prof. Hendratno said.

Of the approximately four thousand universities in Indonesia, he said, Pancasila University is the only private university that has six places of worship.
