At the construction site, Head of the Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Ministry’s Center for Housing Provision for Sulawesi Regional II, Sukowiyono, informed the vice president of 1,500 permanent housing units at the relocation site.
Sukowiyono noted that most of the units were occupied by the survivors.
In addition to the housing, he also highlighted the progress in construction of the permanent housing in Duyu Village, Palu City, Central Sulawesi Province.
The center head remarked that the PUPR Ministry will establish 230 type-36 house units, each with an area of 150 square meters.
Furthermore, he stated that the houses will have good road access, wastewater treatment plant, as well as green open spaces.
Hence, the ministry requires 25 hectares of land for construction of the project.

After reviewing the construction of permanent housing in Tondo I, being conducted by the international non-governmental humanitarian organization Tzu Chi Foundation, Vice President Amin headed to the construction location of the Tondo II relocation site.
During the visit, Amin was accompanied by Governor of Central Sulawesi Rusdy Mastura, Deputy Governor of the province Ma'mun Amir, Head of the National Disaster Mitigation Agency Suharyono, Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning Minister Sofyan Djalil, Deputy Minister of PUPR John Wempi Wetipo, and spokesperson of the Central Sulawesi Regional Legislative Bodies Nilam Sari Lawira.
The review was part of the vice president’s agenda amid his two-day working visit to Palu City until January 7, 2022.
Prior to reviewing the housing, Amin held a joint meeting at the Central Sulawesi Governor's Office to evaluate the implementation of accelerated rehabilitation and reconstruction of public facilities damaged by the 7.4 magnitude earthquake that struck on September 28, 2018, which had triggered tsunami and soil liquefaction.
