The Personal Secretary of the Presidential Office Inf Captain Nofri Arita handed over the assistance to Lilawangsa 011 Provincial Military Commander Inf Colonel Bayu Permana in Lhokseumawe, Aceh, on Friday.
The assistance is a manifestation of the President's concern and solidarity for the flood victims in Aceh, Permana said.
"Nearly 13,400 assistance packages will be distributed to flood victims in North Aceh and the rest will be distributed to flood victims in East Aceh and Aceh Tamiang," he said.
Permana added Indonesian Defence Forces (TNI) personnel would distribute aid to flood victims at the refugee camps.
"In North Aceh, there are 13,000 affected families who will receive assistance from President Jokowi. We will distribute the aid immediately," he added.
He hopes the assistance can help the flood victims who are still evacuating in refugee camps.
"We hope the flood subsides soon. We continue to urge the public to comply with health protocols to stay healthy even during the emergency situation," Permana said.
The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Aceh Tamiang District on Friday reported that as many as 8,853 residents in the area still living in refugee camps due to being affected by the disaster.
In addition, as many as 22 villages in six sub-districts in East Aceh District as of Thursday (Jan 6) were still hit by floods and affected 2,169 houses and 7,598 residents.
