"We are fulfilling the food needs of the earthquake victims, according to the direction of Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini," director general of social protection and security at the ministry, Pepen Nazaruddin, said on Saturday.
The ministry prepared logistical assistance for people affected by the earthquake in the form of 1,200 packages of ready-to-eat food, 100 boxes of bottled drinking water, 200 sheets of blankets, and 300 pieces of rolled tents, he informed.
Apart from that, 200 bed mattresses, six tents, 200 mattresses, 200 baby diapers, 300 packs of sanitary napkins, 50 family tents, and generator sets were also organized, Nazaruddin informed.
Assistance from the ministry was sent from the Bekasi Warehouse and delivered to the affected location in Pandeglang on Saturday night, he said.

In addition, the ministry has also collaborated with Disaster Preparation Cadets (Tagana) and other disaster mitigation elements to deal with the impact of the earthquake, Nazaruddin added.
Tagana has carried out data collection, evacuated residents to safer locations, prepared locations for temporary shelters for vulnerable groups, such as the elderly, children, persons with disabilities, and distributed logistical assistance, he informed.
Based on data from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysical Agency (BMKG), an earthquake of 6.6-magnitude rattled Pandeglang district, Banten, at 16.05 local time on Friday. BMKG said the epicenter of the quake was located at the 7.01 latitude and 105.26 east longitude at a depth of 40 kilometers.
According to a report from the Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) of Pandeglang district, the strong earthquake was felt for four to five seconds in Sumur and Mandalawangi sub-districts, forcing residents out of their homes.
Meanwhile, based on visual observations of the Pandeglang district BPBD, the roofs and terraces of several houses in Sumur and Munjul sub-districts were damaged in the quake.
Apart from Pandegelang, shocks were also felt in Jakarta and its surrounding areas. Several residents and office employees fled from buildings to seek shelter from the quake.
