Malang Mayor Sutiaji said in Malang city, East Java, on Monday that he had urged government staff to focus on imposing micro-scale community activity restrictions in a sustainable manner.
He further said that to limit the spread of the Omicron variant in the city, his administration will push for early examination (testing), tracing, and treatment, or 3Ts.
In addition, the Malang Health Office has been asked to administer more booster vaccines with haste to create herd immunity against the virus, he informed.

"Caution needs to be practiced more, and the 3Ts imposed. Booster vaccinations have been expedited along with control at the micro level," he said.
Despite the risk posed by the Omicron variant, the Malang government will still allow full-capacity work-from-office, he added. The decision was made to continue economic growth, he explained.
The PeduliLindungi application must be used properly, especially in office areas in the city, given the work-from-office policy, the mayor said.
