Banjarnegara, C Java (ANTARA) - Central Java is contributing to efforts to reduce the national poverty rate, Governor Ganjar Pranowo has said.

"The decline in the extreme poverty rate in Central Java is good. In fact, Central Java has also contributed to the decline in the national poverty rate," he said while reviewing an Extreme Poverty Eradication Program in Banjarnegara District, Central Java.

The Central Java provincial government is teaming up with several parties to finance the extreme poverty eradication program in five districts, including Banjarnegara, he noted.

By reviewing the realization of the extreme poverty eradication program, Pranowo said he has gotten to know the condition of the people receiving assistance from the government.

He then appealed to the people to help each eight and uphold the spirit of mutual help to build harmony among villagers.

"The spirit is mutual help. If the mutual help is good in villages, then the public will live in harmony, regardless of religion, ethnicity group," he remarked.
