Despite being heterogeneous, (Jakarta residents) can co-exist peacefully. This must be shown at the international event such as Y20
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Governor of Jakarta Anies Baswedan and West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil met in Jakarta on Saturday night (Jan 29) to discuss preparations for the Youth 20 Summit scheduled for July 2022.

Youth 20 is a forum for future young leaders from G20 member states to discuss a wide range of issues, express arguments, exchange ideas and reach a common agreement related to the agenda of Indonesia's G20 Presidency.

Indonesia has been appointed host of Youth 20 Summit this year.

Jakarta and Bandung enjoy the trust to become venues of the summit.

As regional heads, both Anies Baswedan and Ridwan Kamil expressed preparedness to host the summit.

Anies Baswedan said Jakarta is the most heterogeneous city in Indonesia and this excellence must be shown to delegates to the summit.

"There is no other city in Indonesia which is as heterogeneous as Jakarta. Despite being heterogeneous, (Jakarta residents) can co-exist peacefully. This must be shown at the international event such as Y20," he said in a written statement.

Meanwhile, Ridwan Kamil said Bandung is a city which is inseparable from a historic international event such as Asia Africa Conference 1955.

"The Y20 Summit is in line with the spirit of unity diplomacy built by Bandung since the Asia Africa Conference in 1955," he said.
