Head of the COVID-19 Handling Task Force of Bandung City Asep Gufron stated at the Bandung City Hall here on Wednesday that the evaluation is conducted based on the joint decree of four ministers regarding the implementation of face-to-face learning.
Amid the increasing number of COVID-19 cases, Gufron urged schools to tighten the implementation of health protocols.
"We continue to evaluate the implementation of face-to-face learning, especially tightening the health protocols in each school," he remarked
He highlighted the importance of the schools' COVID-19 task force in minimizing COVID-19 transmission among students and teachers. Apart from monitoring students at school, he noted that the task force formed by the school should also monitor students outside the school environment.
"It is obligatory for schools to form a task force that must educate, raise awareness, and disperse students after classes," he remarked.

According to Gufron, as many as 14 residents were confirmed positive for COVID-19 in the educational environment based on random test results. He detailed that of the 14 people, 13 were students, while one was a teacher.
As a result, two schools in the city had been temporarily closed for 15 days since around five percent of the students in those two schools had contracted COVID-19.
"Those two schools are implementing remote learning again," he remarked.
The first case of COVID-19 was confirmed in Indonesia in March 2020.
