The shuttle buses will be free for passengers who show their 2022 Mandalika MotoGP entry tickets.
Mataram, NTB (ANTARA) - The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) government has prepared 278 free buses for taking 2022 MotoGP spectators to Mandalika Circuit, Central Lombok district, the provincial Transportation Office has informed.

Six shuttle bus points have been prepared for the buses, head of the office, Lalu M. Faozal, said here on Thursday.

The shuttle bus points are located at Lembar Harbor and Gili Mas Harbor (West Lombok district), Bangsal Harbor (North Lombok district), the former location of Selaparang Airport (Mataram city), Lombok International Airport (Central Lombok district), and Kayangan Harbor (East Lombok district), he informed.

"The shuttle buses will be deployed at Lembar Harbor and Gili Mas Harbor since there will be floating hotels to accommodate the spectators," the office head explained.

The facilities are being provided by the Transportation Ministry to support the international sporting event, he said.

"The shuttle buses will be free for passengers who show their 2022 Mandalika MotoGP entry tickets," he added.

In addition to the buses, another 81 vehicles have also been prepared in the Mandalika area to escort visitors from the parking area into the circuit area, he said.

"Thus, after arriving in the destination area, they will be transferred to other vehicles which have been prepared at the east parking lot and west parking lot," Faozal added.

Furthermore, the provincial government has also prepared special rental transportation (ASK) and public rental transportation (ASU) since an estimated 65 thousand spectators are expected to attend the race and not all of them can be accommodated on the shuttle buses, he added.

The regional government is also discussing traffic management, public transportation routes, as well as readiness and carrying capacity of ports and airports, he said.

"We expect that the transportation can facilitate the public to watch the 2022 Mandalika MotoGP," the office head remarked.

The 2022 Mandalika MotoGP will be held from March 18–20, 2022. The Mandalika Circuit is also scheduled to host a MotoGP pre-season test from February 11–13, 2022.
