"For the next three days, the weather will generally be sunny, cloudy, along with heavy rains being experienced," Yudhit Aditya, forecaster for the Zainuddin Abdul Madjid Meteorological Station, Lombok, noted in a written statement here on Monday.
The BMKG estimates light to heavy rains that could be accompanied by lightning and strong winds in parts of Mataram City, West Lombok District, North Lombok, Central Lombok, and East Lombok.
Meanwhile, similar weather conditions are also estimated to occur on Sumbawa Island, including in West Sumbawa District, Sumbawa, Bima City, as well as in the districts of Bima and Dompu.
"Rains will likely occur in the afternoon until early morning," he stated.
The BMKG has also urged residents using transportation and sea crossing facilities or those who will be active on the coast and in the waters around West Nusa Tenggara to be aware of the likelihood of waves reaching heights of over two meters in the southern Lombok Strait, southern Alas Strait, northern Sumbawa waters, Indian Ocean south of West Nusa Tenggara, and the northern and southern parts of Sape Strait.
"All people in West Nusa Tenggara are urged to remain vigilant against the impact of the weather," he remarked.
