The decision is in line with the increase in the bed occupancy rate (BOR) in the region, Head of the West Java COVID-19 Task Force Dewi Sartika said.
Based on data collected as of February 13, 2022, the hospital BOR in West Java has increased by 44.67 percent, she informed.
However, the percentage of available beds is still below the standard set by the World Health Organization (WHO), which is 60 percent, she noted.
"We still have to be vigilant even though the positivity rate is still below the WHO maximum limit, 60 percent. We urge people with mild symptoms to undergo self-isolation at home or at integrated isolation centers monitored by local health services," Sartika said.
The provincial government has taken various anticipatory steps, including boosting the availability of hospital beds to 9,907 beds, she informed. So far, around 4,425 beds have been occupied by COVID-19 patients, she said.
"The beds come with all supporting facilities, including oxygen availability. But, of course, we hope that the facility will not be needed," she added.
Currently, West Java has 14 non-hospital isolation facilities spread across districts and cities, Sartika informed.
As of February 13, seven isolation facilities have reported data updates, namely those located in Bogor city, Bogor district, Cimahi city, Bekasi district, Bandung district, and Garut district, as well as the West Java Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM), she said.
"Currently, there is an increase in bed occupancy at several isolation places. Data from February 13 shows that 395 beds are filled out of the total 1,019 beds," she added.

As for vaccination coverage, Sartika said that West Java has achieved a higher vaccination rate than DKI Jakarta, East Java, Central Java, Banten, and North Sumatra.
The province has been administering 175,223 doses per day, she added.
So far, 33,375,609 people from the province have received the first dose and 23,671,848 have received the second dose, she said.
"Our total vaccination target is 37,907,814 people for doses one, two, and three," she added.
