The 2022 Bangkit program is expected to be successful in producing more graduates, global certifications, and job opportunities.Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Ministry has confirmed that 3,100 students from Indonesian universities have partaken in the 2022 Bangkit program -- a career development program in information and technology -- implemented since 2020.
"We are optimistic over the implementation of the 2022 Bangkit program, as more than 2,500 Bangkit graduates have worked in various sectors," the ministry's Acting Director General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology Nizam said in a written statement here on Tuesday.
Nizam remarked that the program's participants will receive theoretical knowledge and help from professional mentors before starting their own concrete projects.
The participants will undergo a digital training program for the next six months. Some 15 teams with the best projects will be selected for the project incubation process and be funded to initiate their start-ups, starting from mid-2022 to December 2022.

"The 2022 Bangkit program is expected to be successful in producing more graduates, global certifications, and job opportunities," the acting director general remarked.
Nizam also expected the program’s incubation projects to have a greater impact on Indonesia’s higher education sector and the digital ecosystem.
The program is a collaboration among the ministry, Google, as well as two Indonesian companies, GoTo and Traveloka.
Meanwhile, the number of registrants of the 2022 Bangkit program had increased by 60 percent as compared to 2021. Out of the 3,100 selected participants, 26 percent of them were women.

In addition, the participation of universities from areas outside Java regions also increased by 30 percent.
Acting Director of Learning and Student Affairs at the ministry Kiki Yuliati affirmed that the ministry had persistently striven to facilitate Indonesian students to develop their interests, potential, and talents through the Freedom of Learning in Campus (Kampus Merdeka) program.
Meanwhile, Head of Brand Marketing of Google Indonesia Muriel Makarim stated that his side was delighted to collaborate in the program again.
“The 2022 Bangkit graduates are expected to possess great skills to work and innovate in various world-class companies and start-ups in Indonesia," she added.
