In terms of electricity, we will do our best to ensure the reliability of electricity for the G20 event
Jakarta (ANTARA) - State-owned electricity company PT PLN will provide zero downtime to support the G20 Finance Track's events in Jakarta.

To realize zero downtime during the event, PLN has made several preparations, such as inspections of substations and cables as well as the mobilization of supporting equipment for network strengthening at several locations, including at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Mulia Hotel, Fairmont Hotel, Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, Plataran Senayan City Forest, and Jakarta International Stadium (JIS), to ensure reliable electricity during the event.

"We will supply these locations by using two to four layers of power sources, with a total power of 29 megawatt amperes (MVA)," PLN General Manager for the Jakarta Distribution Unit Doddy Pangaribuan stated on Wednesday.

The electricity supply substations have also been equipped with automatic change over (ACO) to help to transfer a backup power source if the main power source is interrupted.

In addition, PLN has readied six units of uninterruptible power supply (UPS), with a total power of 1,600 kilovolt amperes (kVA) and one generator unit, with a power of 600 kVA as backup equipment.

The use of UPS to support electricity is also in line with the agreement between PLN and the Gelora Bung Karno Complex Management Center (PPKGBK) that aims to create a green zone in the GBK area by utilizing environment-friendly energy from PLN that will not cause air and noise pollution.

Pangaribuan made assurance of safe electricity in Jakarta since it is being supplied from six subsystems, with a total capacity of 11,093 megawatts, with the highest peak load in 2022 recorded at 5,034 megawatts.

PLN has also made requisite preparations for electricity reliability for supporting facilities for self-isolation for G20 participants, indicated to exhibit COVID-19 symptoms, i.e. at the Grand Cempaka Hotel.

"We hope this event will run smoothly. In terms of electricity, we will do our best to ensure the reliability of electricity for the G20 event," he noted.
