Moreover, the creation of a more solid collaboration between stakeholders, supported by relevant policies in G20 member states , is necessary, according to BRIN's Acting Deputy for Human Resources, Science, and Technology Edy Giri Rachman Putra.
Putra, in a statement on Monday, stated that the collective need among G20 member countries to solve problems and address challenges globally became an important point to consider strengthening the research and innovation ecosystem in G20.
In addition, the increasing problems that G20 member countries currently encounter also became a point of consideration.
"With this, such countries will be ready to handle major challenges, such as the lack of resources, climate change, environmental security threat, and energy crisis," Putra remarked.

The creation of a conducive research and innovation ecosystem in G20 is expected to help in handling the wide competency gap in research between G20 member countries.
To this end, a research and innovation cooperation scheme should be developed between G20 member countries.
Moreover, the G20 should set more ambitious targets in conducting research and creating innovation, including in the global biodiversity research framework.
Creating this research and innovation ecosystem necessitates collaboration, support, and partnership to share facilities, infrastructure, and funding between G20 member countries.
Research activity requires extensive resources, including human resources, infrastructure, and funding.
If these can be shared, then conducting research will be easier for the benefit of the world and G20 member countries.
Hence, the BRIN is open to research and innovation collaboration in biodiversity, renewable energy, ocean, earth, and space, among other fields.
This research collaboration will become the engine to drive the economy and boost prosperity.
