"As we know together that on March 7, 2022, some 26 Indonesian migrant workers from Ukraine have completed their quarantine period," BP2MI's Head, Benny Rhamdani, noted at a virtual press conference here on Monday.
"They had received the complete dose of vaccination, so they were only quarantined for five days," he stated.
Two Indonesian migrant workers from Ukraine were confirmed to be COVID-19 positive while undergoing quarantine and were required to go through treatment and isolation.
Most of the 26 people that will return home today will go back to Denpasar, Bali, aboard an aircraft, while one person will return to Cilacap, Central Java.
Earlier, 30 Indonesian migrant workers had arrived on March 3, 2022, after being successfully evacuated from Ukraine. They thereafter went through the quarantine period at the Pasar Rumput COVID-19 Emergency Hospital, here.
Indonesian workers that had arrived in the nation comprised 29 women and one man. Most of them worked as spa therapists and were from Bali.
Rhamdani also noted that Indonesia will utilize this opportunity to continue to provide protection to migrant workers abroad.

To this end, he urged migrant worker candidates to go through the placement process through the official channel while adding that the nation continues to provide facility and assistance to those, who will officially depart.
Rhamdani pointed to a risk involved for migrant workers going through the non-procedural channel.
"Today's portrait, wherein we show our siblings from Ukraine, is a portrait of how they deserve to receive respectful treatment and the state's protection as mandated by the President of Republic of Indonesia," he emphasized.
