The racing championship will take place at the Mandalika Circuit in Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), from March 18–20, 2022.
"The MotoGP event is just the beginning. We will take advantage of this preparation process for the long-term program as well as for the development of the Mandalika Super Priority Tourism Destination (DPSP)," KSP main expert Helson Siagian said in a written statement received here on Wednesday.
KSP has sent a team of professionals to ensure and oversee the supporting facilities for the MotoGP, he informed. The government, through the KSP, wants to ensure that the prestigious international event, which has great potential to stimulate tourism, runs smoothly, he added.
Siagian said KSP has ensured the readiness of supporting transportation facilities at Gilimas Bus Terminal and Lembar Harbor in West Lombok to welcome MotoGP spectators.
To support transportation between islands, especially from Bali and Java, Lembar Port will deploy 48 ferry boats or double the number of services from the regular period, he informed.
In addition, KSP has also held coordination meetings with local governments, ministries, and agencies to ensure flood control, smooth drainage, electricity availability, telecommunication network readiness, as well as the readiness of supporting accommodation such as tourist villages, tour packages, and the involvement of the creative economic sector, he said.

"We are also concerned about the mobilization strategy during the D-Day of the competition to prevent over-crowding. The plan is to widen the Kuta-Keruak access road to the Mandalika Circuit and the arrangement of slum houses," he added.
Meanwhile, the work on re-paving the problematic circuit in pre-season is expected to be completed on Wednesday (March 9), he noted.
"This is the first major event to be held during a pandemic, so we must remain professional," Siagian remarked.
The Mandalika Circuit hosted the World Super Bike (WSBK) in 2021. It is scheduled to hold three days of MotoGP series, Moto2 series, Moto3 series, and the Asia Talent Cup from March 19–20.
