Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy for Economic Affairs at the Ministry of National Development Planning (PPN/Bappenas) Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti affirmed that Bappenas was currently preparing a master plan for development of the digital industry.

"We are directing this master plan to encourage cross-stakeholder collaboration in order to strengthen the supply and consumption of digital industry's products nationally," Widyasanti remarked during the webinar titled "Sustainable Economic Transformation Through a Digital Approach" accessed here on Tuesday.

Widyasanti expressed optimism that with the master plan, domestic industries will play an essential part in the digital industry supply chain, so that they can also create high added value and jobs.

"Thus, the Indonesian people will not only rely on the purchase of imported goods that do not provide transfer of technology," she stressed.

According to Widyasanti, digital transformation will also be directed at leveraging national economic productivity while also supporting inclusive and sustainable development.

To this end, Widyasanti pressed for optimal interaction between digital infrastructure and its utilization through an ecosystem.

"This ecosystem is facilitated, including through a platform that allows the government, business players, and the community to take advantage of advances in digital technology in an integrated manner," she pointed out.

The integrated digital platform is also expected to support the government in monitoring development issues and responding to quality policies that are right on target, the deputy remarked.

Widyasanti affirmed that digital transformation should also be encouraged to support sustainable development.

"In other words, digital transformation that is currently being designed and will be implemented later needs to mainstream sustainable principles to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)," she remarked.
