Our job is to convey it to those who do not know and require guidance. It is very important for us to reach out, especially toward the younger generationJakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati urged the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) to disseminate various types of information related to tax in order to rope in more members of the younger generation to contribute.
"This is what has to be continued by the Finance Ministry and DJP, which is to disseminate, facilitate, and create a simple concept," the minister noted during the 2022 Tax Campaign Spectaxcular DJP event here on Wednesday.
Indrawati deemed this step as necessary since currently, several people of the younger generation had ideas to contribute to the development of the nation through tax.
However, these ideas are not channeled, as the younger generation consider aspects related to tax as very complicated and worrisome.
To this end, the minister stressed that one of the duties of her ministry, including the DJP, is to disseminate information on tax in a modern manner that is easy to understand.
"Our job is to convey it to those who do not know and require guidance. It is very important for us to reach out, especially to members of the younger generation," she emphasized.

One of the methods is to adopt digital technology to change the people's perception that has been incorrect all this time that makes them hesitant and afraid of fulfilling their tax obligation.
Digital technology adoption is also conducted to handle technical problems, including in submitting the annual tax return (SPT), which is deemed to be complicated by the people.
The minister urged DJP officials to continue to bring out creativity, innovation, technology, and education by continuing to prioritize access ease to make it easier for the people to understand.
The minister acknowledged that some DJP officials did look down upon people for not understanding this concept.
However, it was their duty to make the people understand.
