Moeldoko expressed concern during the 53rd Anniversary event of the Malang National Institute of Technology (ITN), as stated in a press release here on Thursday.
He reminded the youths to not be a generation that seeks instant results and likes to show off wealth gained, particularly by deceiving people. Moeldoko stressed that Indonesia was not built with that type of mentality.
Moeldoko opined that the latest technology and dynamics of the young generation's social life were closely related, as gadgets facilitated an easier life, thereby leading to the current generation seeking instantaneous results.

The current times had caused people to grow increasingly impatient, as they wanted things to come their way easily, he said. It even set a new, unrealistic mindset, in which people want success or wealth without having to work at all, he remarked. This was what had made him increasingly concerned.
He lauded ITN Malang for creating innovations in terms of technology and renewable energy. For instance, the construction of a solar power plant had made ITN the only campus having that source of energy.

President Joko Widodo had paid significant attention to transformation towards renewable energy, he remarked. Currently, they are building the Nusantara Capital City that will crystallize several forms of transformations, included those of energy. What the university did was in line with the government's ideals, he pointed out.
Moeldoko was also requested to inaugurate the solar power plant and the construction of three houses of worship -- masjid, church, and temple -- on campus.
He also signed a memorandum of understanding between the Presidential Staff Office and Malang National Institute of Technology regarding the development of information and technology research.
