Mataram, W Nusa Tenggara (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has invited the younger generation in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) to take part in efforts to make the G20 Presidency of Indonesia a success.

"We strongly encourage youth, especially youth from NTB, to be involved in making the G20 a success," expert staff for inter-agency relations at the ministry, Ambassador Muhsin Syihab, said here on Saturday.

NTB's youth could play quite a significant role in making the activity a success, he added. The region is scheduled to host the Indonesian Youth Diplomacy (IYD) meeting from April 23 to 24, 2022.

"Therefore, NTB's youth must prepare for the Youth 20 meeting," he emphasized.

According to Syihab, the Youth 20 meeting is crucial for the youth in NTB. Through the meeting, the youth would be able to access information and voice their interests.

Therefore, he emphasized that the government is giving serious attention to Youth 20 activities in NTB.

"We will see the strength of NTB youth to be involved in Youth 20, so that in the future, there will be pride that they have been involved in the meeting," he remarked.

A total of 100 youths from NTB will take part in the upcoming IYD meeting.

"Inshallah (if God wills), we are ready to welcome various events that will be held in NTB," she remarked.

Djalilah requested that the progress of preparations for the IYD, which will take place in Mataram and West Lombok, continue to be communicated to various relevant stakeholders.

"It must continue to be coordinated with the relevant regional apparatus organizations (OPD). For example, needs of transportation can be coordinated with the Transportation Office and so on," the deputy governor said.
