The Cash Labor-Intensive Program's activities for the 2022 fiscal year have started to be conducted in Indramayu District, Cirebon District, and Cirebon City to support the 2022 Eid Al-Fitr exodus trip.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Minister Basuki Hadimuljono highlighted that the Cash Labor-Intensive Program aims to disburse development funds to villages and remote areas.

"In addition, it intends to expedite economic recovery and increase the people's purchasing power," the minister noted in statement received here on Thursday.

Hadimuljono also appealed that the program be always implemented in accordance with health protocols to curb the transmission of COVID-19.

The PUPR Ministry has allocated a budget of Rp4.5 trillion (US$419 million) for implementation of the Cash Labor-Intensive Program for the development of roads and bridges in 2022.

Some Rp315 billion (US$29 million) of the figure has been set for implementation of the roads and bridges development program in West Java Province that can absorb a total workforce of 18,874 people.

The program includes the routine labor-intensive road project, with an allocation of Rp3.7 billion (US$345 thousand) and 4,492 workers, as well as the routine labor-intensive road project, with a budget of Rp18 billion (US$1.6 million) and 3,214 workers.

Moreover, there are the labor-intensive drainage revitalization project costing Rp78 billion (US$7.2 million), with 6,724 workers, as well as other non-routine labor-intensive projects costing Rp184 billion (US$17 million), with 4,443 workers.

Head of the Jakarta and West Java National Road Implementation Center (BBPJN) Wilan Oktavian remarked that management for the operations of roads and bridges in West Java was divided into six regions.

The six regions include the Bogor-Jasinga -Puncak-Cianjur area (Region I), Rajamandala-Padalarang-Purwakarta area (Region II), as well as Banten-Palabuhanratu-Cidaun-Soreang area (Region III).

Furthermore, there are also the Bekasi-Cikampek-Palimanan-Cirebon-Losari area (Region IV), Padalarang-Bandung- Sumedang-Cirebon area (Region V), as well as Cidaun-Pangandaran-Banjar-Ciamis-Kuningan area (Region VI).

"The Cash Labor-Intensive Program's activities for the 2022 fiscal year have started to be conducted in Indramayu District, Cirebon District, and Cirebon City to support the 2022 Eid Al-Fitr exodus trip," the Jakarta and West Java BBPJN head stated.

He noted that tasks for the workers in the program include painting bridges, making road markings, cutting grass on the sides and medians of roads, cleaning drainages, as well as painting medians.
