Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Communication and Informatics Ministry will hold entrepreneurship training for women -- the Women in Digital Entrepreneurship (WiDE) -- as part of the efforts to recover the pandemic-hit economy.

"Aligning with the discussions in the meeting of the Digital Economy Working Group (DEWG) in the G20 agenda, digital ability and literacy are important matters to increase the vulnerable groups' participations," Ministry's Head of Human Resources Research and Development Agency, Hary Budiarto, noted here on Monday.

Budiarto explained that the Digital Talent Scholarship (DTS) Program was able to reduce the gaps in digital ability, especially during the recovery phase of the country due to the pandemic.

This training is aimed at honing the skills and boosting the competitiveness of Information Technology in human resources to support digital transformation to realize a strong, sustainable, and inclusive Indonesia, he added.

Through this event, he emphasized that the government was keen that micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) become part of the digital transformation process.

"They cannot be left behind in the discussions of digital transformation. Through the Digital Entrepreneurship Academy (DEA), which is part of the DTS program, the ministry will strive to encourage women to become the center of economic recovery," Budiarto stated.

He drew attention to several digital inequalities between men and women.
